


Brahmastra Ensemble began in 2016 as one of the flagship initiatives of Brahmastra Arts House, founded by four musicians united by a simple desire—to make music. What started as an intimate collaboration has since evolved into a dynamic Indian Pop Fusion band, featuring a vibrant lineup of drums, bass, keys, guitar, flute, and percussion. Over the years, Brahmastra Ensemble has been part of numerous local arts initiatives and major productions. The band has also been featured in media projects and collaborated with renowned playback and independent singers, including Sridhar Sena, as well as a range of talented local artists from Singapore.

My Identity: Beyond Artistry [ArtsEverywhere @CDC 2024 -2025]
My Identity was presented as part of Arts@Everywhere Phase 1, an initiative by the National Arts Council (Singapore), People’s Association, and Community Development Council. The ensemble collaborated with Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, SIFAS, Kalpavriksha Fine Arts, OMKAR Arts, Periyachi Roshini, Samyukta Venkataraman, and Janaki Nair for this presentation. The experience also featured a curated booth with contributions from Damaru SG and Manimaran Creations. This 19-site islandwide iteration brought the performance to diverse communities across Singapore. The concert was presented between 19th September 2024 to 30th March 2025.
Launch of Tamil Language Festival 2024, Vasantham - Mediacorp
The Brahmastra Ensemble presented a captivating performance featuring original compositions by multi-award-winning artist Niranjan Pandian. The showcase featured powerful vocal performances by Darshana, Sai Vignesh, and Sindhu Vimalkumar, with original songs such as Thadai Edhuvai, Ennai Izhandhen, and Enadhu Tamizhe. The concert was broadcast on Vasantham (Mediacorp) and meWATCH on 30 April 2024.
Ainthinai: A Timeless Bond

Ainthinai: A Timeless Bond is a film musical venture directed by Darshan, with original music composed by Niranjan Pandian and performed by the Brahmastra Ensemble. The soundtrack featured a blend of playback and independent singers from Singapore and India, including renowned vocalist Saindhavi Prakash. Presented at the Goodman Arts Centre Black Box, the production was supported by the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (TLLPC), the stART Fund, and the National Arts Council (Singapore).

Upclose with Brahmastra featured Airtel Vijay TV Super Singer winner, Sridhar Sena, in an intimate concert experience presented in partnership with Arpanam Experiences. Held at L2, above Podi and Poriyal, the Brahmastra Ensemble performed a selection of original works and reimagined arrangements, blending the musical talents of Singapore and India. More than just an evening of entertainment, the concert served as a platform to showcase and celebrate original compositions.

“என் அடையாளம் (My Identity)” by Brahmastra – A Stirring Journey of Self-Discovery Through Music and Dance [2022]
Presented at The Arts House’s Play Den on 3rd September 2022, என் அடையாளம் (My Identity) by Brahmastra offered an evocative evening of music, movement, and storytelling. Framed around five personal stories of youth discovering their sense of self through the arts, the performance resonated deeply with audiences in both its 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. showcases.
Each narrative was brought to life through original compositions and choreographed dance pieces, co-created with a talented lineup of young artists — Ananya B., Krithika Soma, Samyukta Venkatraman, Taneshvari, Vaaheni, and Vilvam Ramu. The result was a thoughtful and emotionally stirring portrayal of identity shaped through creative expression.
Music for the evening was composed by the ensemble’s music director, award-winning flautist Niranjan Pandian. His works offered a rich, genre-fluid soundscape that seamlessly supported the stories being told. Performing alongside Niranjan were members of Brahmastra — Muraledharan Naidu (Drums), Jayagowtham Annadurai (South Indian Percussions), Govin Tan (Tabla), Caleb Koa (Keys), and Mah (Bass) — each bringing dynamic textures and rhythm to the performance. The concert also featured a special appearance by Pavethren Kanagarethinam, adding further depth to the sonic palette.
Backed by the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (TLLPC), this concert not only showcased the power of intercultural collaboration but also reinforced Brahmastra’s commitment to nurturing local voices and cultural storytelling. என் அடையாளம் (My Identity) was more than a concert — it was a heartfelt celebration of language, identity, and the transformative force of the arts.

Seven Wonders of Tamil, produced by acclaimed musician Niranjan Pandian, was a vibrant celebration of the Tamil language through music, visuals, and storytelling. Presented as part of the Tamil Language Festival 2022 and supported by the Tamil Language Council and TLLPC, the concert explored seven facets of the language — from roots and traditions to modern conversations and relationships.The performance featured original songs composed by Niranjan, with lyrics by emerging local writers and vocals by talented singers including Sai Vignesh and Nanditha Gurunath Hari. Genres ranged from Indian classical to rock, brought to life by an eclectic ensemble of musicians and enhanced by dynamic lyrical videos.Blending tradition with innovation, Seven Wonders of Tamil offered an inspiring audio-visual journey that reflected the evolving identity of Tamil through the voices of Singapore’s youth and indie music scene.
Brahmastra Ensemble at Kala Utsavam 2021, Aikyam - The Oneness

As part of the Kala Utsavam – Indian Festival of Arts 2021, the Brahmastra Ensemble delivered a stirring performance that brought contemporary Indo-ASEAN expression to the forefront. Held at the Esplanade Annexe Studio with two showings at 6pm and 8pm on November 21, the 45-minute production invited audiences into a vibrant dialogue between tradition and innovation.
Blending Indian classical roots with Southeast Asian musical influences, Brahmastra’s soundscape was both evocative and boundary-pushing. The ensemble’s commitment to bridging cultural identities resonated deeply within the wider context of the festival, which celebrated Indian arts and culture from November 17 to 28 across music, dance, film, and more.
Presented in an intimate setting, the performance was a testament to the ensemble’s evolving artistry—one that mirrors the festival’s spirit of tradition meeting contemporary relevance. Kala Utsavam 2021 featured a diverse lineup of free and ticketed events (starting at $35), and Brahmastra’s concert stood out as a poignant reflection of cultural fluidity and collaborative exploration in a globalised arts landscape.

Brahmastra Ensemble, featuring Vishnu Balaji, presented a music video series celebrating the timeless legacy of Mahakavi Bharathiyar through original compositions by Niranjan Pandian. Launched in commemoration of the 100th year of remembrance of the revered poet, the series paid tribute to Bharathiyar’s enduring spirit and literary brilliance through evocative musical storytelling.

Kuralum Kuralum 2.0
Kuralum Kuralum 2.0, presented by Brahmastra Arts House and supported by the Tamil Language Council, features Ashwini Selvaraj as narrator in a vibrant musical tapestry that weaves together Thirukkural couplets and iconic Kollywood songs. Reimagined and rearranged by Niranjan Pandian, the performance reflects the timeless ethos of the Thirukkural through the lens of contemporary Tamil cinema.
